Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Being a South Asian, British immigrant to Canada has allowed for me to become comfortable relating to people of all backgrounds and made me profoundly aware of the differences and similarities in people. The one thing that is the same worldwide is the need for people to have someone as a confidante. Talking about how one feels and being able to express negative emotions, trauma or personal feelings of inadequacy is vital for mental health. I pride myself on being an active listener, always making time with an empathetic ear.
I am a student Psychotherapist practicing under supervision as I am working towards my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. A vital component of successful therapy is the therapeutic alliance and I look forward to helping my clients move forward with a collaborative approach focused on mutual respect. Psychology has always been an area of interest to me, and I have a deep-rooted passion for helping people. I enjoy working from a solution-focused approach, in addition to cognitive behavioural therapy. However, I allow for an eclectic approach to therapy as I individualize your therapeutic experience based on your current needs. I am a firm believer that we all can change our narratives!
