Resident Psychotherapist

Hi there! I’m Ashley, a resident psychotherapist here at A1 Counselling. I am currently
completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. As an immigrant
and bi-racial female, I have experience navigating cultural challenges and being
underrepresented. You are welcome exactly as you are since I strive to honour what makes you
unique. You are the expert on yourself, and our time together will be collaborative.

I practice from the understanding that the mind, body, and spirit are all connected. Although my go-to approaches are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Solution-focused Therapy, I am
passionate about integrative and holistic treatments. With curiosity and empathy, I strive to
establish a safe space that welcomes you to experience and face sometimes overwhelming
emotions without being alone.

I endeavor to support clients with goal setting, developing, and implementing coping strategies, and creating lasting positive change. Exploring together the underlying causes behind your emotional and behavioural reactions will help to enhance self-acceptance and encourage self-awareness. Ultimately, I consider it a privilege and an honour to hear your personal story and work alongside you to better understand your inner workings and world.
