MA in Counselling Psychology (qualifying)
I am Barbara Newman, a resident psychotherapist (qualifying) working towards completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
Becoming a therapist was something I wanted to do for a long time due to my passion for personal development, relationships, and spiritual and emotional growth. As a certified Life Coach, I encouraged people to reach fulfillment and success. My role is to nurture my clients’ progression towards their goals and to show them how to be the main character in their story.
My therapy incorporates a range of different approaches. I blend positive psychology, motivational interviewing, solution-focused techniques, and any other approaches that can be useful. I’ll share insights with you. We’ll think and communicate and build.
Should we choose to collaborate, I can help you transition through life while bolstering your self-esteem. We will discover what’s best inside you. What are your highest strengths, and how can you use them more? As a client, you’re the expert in your life, and I’ll listen and help you find the solution that works for you. I am dedicated to helping you create change. I use all my creativity and wits to help.
I have been happily married for 13 years. I’m a mom to three kids. My travels have taken me across the world. I have had the opportunity to live in Japan, China, Italy, England and Hungary. I’ve learned much about people along the way. I bring my life experience to my work as a therapist.
I am fluent in English, Italian and Hungarian.
