Meet Oksana Denysenko

B.A., M.A. (C. Psych.) (C)

Resident Psychotherapist

Making the first step for change is always a challenge. It is easier to make this step being supported by someone who is attuned to your needs but does not judge, who can help you to find your strength, courage, and potential to grow. I offer to be your companion in this journey, that person who can help you to make the first and following steps. I won’t promise you the miracles that the desired changes would happen in one night. Instead, I will focus on your values, needs, desires, and goals to help you better understand your inner true self and find what deters you from living as fully as you’ve always wanted.

I am completing a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University at the moment. My previous education from Ukraine is a Master of Arts in Education and a Bachelor in Linguistics. My previous background is all about finding the ways of effective communication in different, sometimes even extreme situations – I worked as a flight attendant and cabin crew instructor for 15 years.

My approach and values:

In my work, I use an integrated approach mostly following existential-phenomenological principles, which focuses on your feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensation in the here-and-now moment. The awareness of those feelings and sensations might reveal what needs remain unmet, show your habitual way to deal with issues, and find new, more effective, upgraded ways to cope with life challenges.

I value genuine contact and dialogue with clients much more than strategies and techniques, the human presence and willingness to listen, hear and understand is the most important part of my work. I invite you to this dialogue – shall we talk?
