Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

I am a resident psychotherapist working towards completing my masters in counselling psychology at Yorkville University. I have worked as a mental health counsellor and crisis responder, in emergency shelters, and case management, providing mental health and psychosocial supports to improve lives of people experiencing homelessness, substance use dependance, and mental illness.
My greatest passion is creating an environment of diversity and inclusion where all people feel accepted and valued. I am familiar with men’s issues and sociocultural concerns regarding dominant masculine ideals. Some of my interests include the study of dreams, implicit biases, gender and gendered identities, identity crisis resulting from major life changes, and affective disorders. I also understand there are both conscious and unconscious operations in the mind that influence thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and that much of human motivation becomes definite beyond conscious awareness.
As your therapist, I will provide you with a safe and confidential space to listen and jointly explore difficult issues and help you find healthy solutions to life’s challenges. I work with individuals, couples, and families. We are all unique and have different life circumstances, so I utilize a blend of humanistic therapy, CBT, and psychodynamic approaches to focus on key content, facilitate understanding, develop collaborative curiosity, foster motivation, and to bring about positive change.
