Meet Yeukai Tsikira
B.A., M. A., RP (Qualifying)
Resident Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Hi there! I am Yeukai Tsikira, a resident psychotherapist completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Before this, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Behavioural Science at Burman University.
One unique thing about me is that I have a speech impediment that developed when I was younger. For the longest time, I allowed my speech impediment to control many aspects of my life. It took some time for me to realize how much power my perceptions have on my thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
I believe we all have a story inside of us, and because we are the experts of our lives, we also have a natural potential and ability to grow and achieve change. Although we might not have much power over every situation and circumstance that happens to us, we can still overcome challenges and experience freedom within ourselves.
Moreover, I use an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens. My therapeutic style involves using an eclectic approach by integrating different therapeutic techniques and therapies that suit you while also using a holistic approach. Furthermore, as a resident psychotherapist, my desire is not to change you but to walk with you along your journey and help you achieve your goals.
I speak English, French and Shona.
